Browse the Internet Faster and Easier on iPad
This is a interesting article on how to maximise your internet experience when using the iPad. It was located over at Worldwide iPad News. There is nothing worse than spending half your lesson time just trying to get all your students actually connected to the net. This is not a magic wand but it is a list of tips for setting up your procedures for the iPad so your students do not waste valuable class time. Check it out to see if it gives you quicker access.

Keeping the Bookmarks Bar visible
An often overlooked feature of the iPad is the Bookmarks Bar, which allows you to surf quickly to your favorite websites. It’s easy to miss because, by default, the bar only appears when you open a new tab and then disappears again when you go to a website. You can make it stay visible by going to Settings on your Home screen, selecting Safari and setting “Always Show Bookmarks Bar” to “ON”. You can add bookmarks to the bar by tapping the “+” sign to the left of the address bar, tapping “Add Bookmark” and then “Add to Bookmarks Bar”.

You can add a bookmark for a website – a webclip – to your iPad Home screen by surfing to the page you want to bookmark in Safari, tapping the “+” sign and selecting “Add to Home Screen”. The webclip, which you can rename, is added to your Home screen and will automatically open to the area of the web page you had displayed when you bookmarked the site. Webclips are backed up by iTunes, but are not synced by either iTunes or MobileMe.

December 22, The Birth Of The Sun god at Mounds State ParkIt is evident that the Adena and Hopewell expended the most effort at the Mounds State Park, henge complex in the alignment of the winter solstice sunrise that occurs mostly on December 22 and the summer solstice sunset that occurs on June, 22. The winter solstice is the longest night of the year and the shortest day with the solar opposite being the summer solstice where it is the longest duration of sunlight of the year and the shortest night. Each of the solar events were celebrated and the moment of the sunrise or set captured within the alignments of the gateways of the earthworks or the positioning of the earthworks themselves.
More concealed within Mounds State Park is the evidence of an Earth Mother cult associated with the birth of the sun. These findings and interpretations are based on widespread antediluvian symbolism and myths associated with the winter solstice sunrise. All of which share much of the symbolism associated with a Sun Cult.

A mother, whose daughter was fighting for her life, believes that a photograph taken in a hospital ward shows an angel.Colleen Banton, from Charlotte, North Carolina, was facing the agonising decision of taking her daughter off a life-support machine when the miracle occurred.
14-year-old Chelsea had been admitted to the hospital with pneumonia, but a series of subsequent infections and a collapsed lung left the teenager breathing with the help of a ventilator.
As friends and family gathered to say their final goodbyes, Mrs Banton was alerted to an unusual bright light by a nurse.
On the monitor, there was this bright light, she said. And I looked at it and I said, "Oh my goodness! It looks like an angel!"
A first attempt at capturing the image with a digital camera was unsuccessful: The first picture wouldnt take, she said.
The second time she succeeded, and the mother-of-two sought solace in the image while her daughters oxygen mask was removed.
Both family and staff were stunned when Chelsea began breathing for herself.
When they took the mask off of her, her stats went as high as theyve ever been, said Mrs Banton. Her color was good, and the doctors and nurses were amazed. The nurse practitioner who saw the image in the monitor said, "Ive worked here 15 years, and Ive never seen anything like it.
Two weeks later, the teenager was sent home from hospital, in time for her 15th birthday on Christmas day.
What was so ironic is it was a rainy day, Mrs Banton said of her discovery. It had been overcast all day. And the sun only came out at that point.
If they doubt it, thats fine... But I know what I saw, and the pictures untouched. I didnt make it up. Thats just something that I believe.
I believe that more people have changed since this happened. I know I have. I look at things differently than I used to – because I know God is in control.
Mrs Banton revealed that she and her older daughter had been praying for a miracle since Chelsea was born five weeks prematurely, and was given 36 hours to live.
She spent the first four months in a neonatal intensive care unit, recalled her mother.
Against the odds, Chelsea - who has suffered from pneumonia, hydrocephalus, requiring a shunt in her skull, and life-threatening viruses throughout her childhood - is now at high school.
Im learning that every day shes alive is a miracle. said Mrs Banton.
